Director Imtiaz Ali’s second film Jab We Met and his fourth film Rockstar were super successful, but his last film Highway wasn’t a great success at the box office – although critically acclaimed. We all know that Imtiaz’s much awaited biggie Tamasha stars ex-lovers Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone as the leading pair. And guess what – the story of the film has just been revealed.
The Characters of Tamasha:
According to credible sources from DNA, Ranbir will be in a never-seen-before nomad avatar. To those of you who were thinking it will be similar to Ranbir’s character in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, to your surprise, it’s not. Also, Deepika Padukone will play a bubbly girl, who is on a trip to Corsica following the trail of her favourite characters from comics, Asterix and Obelix.
The Story of Tamasha:
Ranbir-Deepika’s characters meet on the trip and start falling for each other. Love develops between them, as they both fancy Asterix and Obelix. What’s more, the leading couple will also be seen performing and staging ‘Tamashas’ or stage acts all over the island, and hence the name of the film.
This is the basic plotline of Tamasha, but Imtiaz Ali will definitely not direct such ‘simple’ stuff. It will be an unusual love story just like his Socha Na Tha, Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal, Rockstar and Highway. At least, we hope so!
