Ranbir Kapoor to play mythological superhero in Ayan Mukerji's next

For the past few days, rumours have been rife that Ranbir Kapoor might have a new co-star, Alia Bhatt in Ayan Mukerji’s yet-untitled next. 

But no one really knows what the movie is going to be about. And although buzz is that Ranbir will play a superhero in the film, the Kapoor scion finally clears the air.  

"I am excited to play the role of a superhero, but when we talk of superheroes, we just have one image — Spider-Man or Superman. But he (Ayan) isn’t writing a film along those lines. I think it’s a fantasy-based film, a mythological (based) in contemporary times. And it will have a boy who will have some form of superpowers. But right now, it’s too early to talk about it," says Ranbir. 

The actor, who has worked with his close friend Ayan earlier in Wake Up Sid (2009), and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013), says that the latter has "gone completely underground" trying to write the story. 

Ranbir also adds that the film is very ambitious in idea, as well as budget. 

"Ayan is thinking big, but for that he really has to concentrate on the writing part. Right now, he needs at least a year more for writing. I have always believed that Ayan is a genius writer. He is in touch with reality, how people are and the dynamics of a relationship between people. He is simple, so he doesn’t make over-intelligent or niche films. There’s no pressure (on him) to start his film; when he is ready, we will jump into it,” says Ranbir.

We’re in a good phase right now: Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor , who’s completed seven years in the industry, has seen the industry change a lot in this time. The actor talks about how to make cinema bigger and better. 

Experiment: The Hindi film industry is in a very good phase right now. Newer minds from every aspect of cinema are coming in. The quality of stories is getting better, and actors are being brave in choosing roles. Also I feel directors today, the new and the established ones, seem to be pushing the envelope. These are signs of positive change.  


Social media: If people like your film, there is a lot of positive feedback and word-of-mouth publicity. I remember when Besharam (2013) released, we were told that it opened to full houses. But at the end of the day, because people didn’t like the film, there was negative word-of-mouth, and movie-goers’ attendance suffered. 


Social media helps if you make a good film, especially for movies that don’t have big star casts. For a film like Queen, which made a lot of Money at the box-office, and is such a loved movie, social-networking sites helped. They’ve also come to the aid of smaller films. Today, movies are getting promoted on the social network, and the Internet should be explored wisely


Embrace technology: We haven’t fully explored the 3D genre yet, though things are getting interesting with films like Dhoom:3 (2013) releasing in the IMAX format. I know Christopher Nolan (filmmaker) makes all his films in that format. So, we’re becoming more aware of technique. 


Look at a film-maker like James Cameron, who made Avatar (2009), which is probably one of the biggest films ever made. He’s pushed the boundaries of technique, reinventing camera angles, 3D technology and sound. We have a lot to learn from such directors. Of course, they have an advantage because they have bigger budgets, and because they make films in English, they reach different corners of the world.


Keep it simple: I believe that storytelling is more important than technique. If you can tell a story in the newest, simplest form, it touches the audience — whether you want them to laugh, cry, or simply entertaining them 


Market Wise : Earlier, there was over-marketing of everything. We used to spend 20-30 days when a film came out. That was overkill. You have to leave some mystery to your film, and to yourself as an actor, and let the audience come and explore it.

Next movie with Imtiaz Ali set in Corsica

Indian movie lovers want to see them together, on-screen and off-screen; the directors know it and the actors are aware of this - so why not milk it?

On popular demand, Bollywood actors Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are set for their next movie.

In another week the actors will fly to Corsica, an island in the south of France for a 30-day shooting schedule for Imtiaz Ali's next film.

The 32-year-old 'Rockstar' actor said at an event, "I leave in another 12 days to a lovely place called Corsica. I think it is in south of France. We would be shooting there for 30 days."

He is looking forward to the film which is reportedly titled Tamasha.

This will be Ranbir's second film with Imtiaz, and third with ex-girlfriend Deepika (Padukone).

Ranbir has delivered two hits with his ex-flame Deepika Padukone. The first time he paired up with Dippy was for 'Bachna Ae Haseeno', and his next with her 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani' was a smashing hit.

The movie is a love story and is expected to release next year.

Ranbir-Deepika stunned everyone with their tantalizing chemistry in 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani' post break up.

No wonder, their fans are going gaga to see the duo weave the magic on-screen once gain.

In the meantime, Deepika has been enjoying her break after completing 'Happy New Year' shoot.

The actress has been spending time with rumoured beau Ranveer Singh in Barcelona and completing her endorsement commitments.

Ranbir, on the other hand, has been busy shooting with Katrina Kaif in South Africa for their next 'Jagga Jasoos'.

Salman Khan comes to Katrina Kaif’s rescue, not Ranbir Kapoor!

Katrina Kaif and her ex-beau Salman Khan still share a warm rapport. Not only does Kat still rely heavily on Sallu’s advice, but it is the Kick actor who she looks for advice and not her current boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor. It seems that recently when theBang Bang heroine faced an issue with Cine Costume And Make Up Artists Association during a shoot in Film City she reached out to the DabanggKhan. Apparently when the association opposed to the Jagga Jasoos heroine working with international make up artist Daniel Bauer. Kat stuck by her make up guy and sought Salman’s intervention. Of course it was smooth sailing once Sallu sorted the matter for his ex-gal. However, we wonder what Ranbir Kapoor has to say about this. With RK busy in France shooting for his next with Deepika Padukone, we’re sure there wasn’t much he could do to help his gal back in Mumbai.

On an earlier occasion too when Katrina wanted to decide on a Subhash Ghai film offer she asked Sallu miyaan for help and not the Kapoor lad. Not to forget that not so long ago when Salman Katrina met at the Mehboob studio they exchanged warm hugs and even chatted for a while. Kat has also maintained a cordial equation with SK and his family and is spotted at their events and dos even post the break-up.

Reasons Why Ranbir Kapoor And Katrina Kaif Could Breakup

Argue over living in together? If you think that all is well between Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, then think again. If rumours are to be believed, the couple, who were contemplating to live in together, might not do so. A Bollywoodlife.com report says that the two might be attending parties and going on vacations together but would they actually live under one roof? The report further contemplates that since Ranbir has always been a free spirit and likes to take his own decisions, will he be able to live in with his girlfriend? Media has been abuzz with reports on how clingy and possessive Katrina has been during their recent schedule of Jagga Jasoos in South Africa. Also another reason Bollywoodlife.comstates is that Ranbir is very close to his family and there is a huge possibility that he becomes homesick and hence might drop the idea of staying with Katrina. Also since Ranbir loves to party and hang out with his guy friends, staying 24*7 with a girlfriend might dampen all his plans the report adds.

Insecurity: It seems Katrina Kaif is insecure about her relationship with Ranbir Kapoor. ASahara Samay report says that Katrina was keeping tabs on Ranbir, who is in Sri Lanka shooting for Anurag Kashyap's Jagga Jasoos. The report adds that she is keeping a check on Ranbir very carefully. Even when she does not have any work on the sets, she comes there so that she can allegedly keep an eye on him. She is always found on his side and is accompanying him wherever he goes. Her behaviour has reportedly irritated Ranbir, who is yearning for some space. In fact, Katrina is doing what Ranbir’s ex-lover Deepika Padukone did. Dips used to keep a dog watch on Ranbir when he was shooting with Katrina for Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. At that time Deepika was insecure about Ranbir, which inevitably led to their breakup. Watch out Kat, you’re repeating the same mistake what Dips did.

Ex-factor: In an industry as small and well-knit as Bollywood it becomes very difficult to avoid one another, especially when it comes to work. It becomes even tough when the people you would want to avoid are the numero uno heroine Deepika Padukone and the most popular actor- Salman Khan. While Ranbir dated Deepika before, Katrina was in a relationship with Salman. Though they have parted ways, Ranbir is still doing films with Deepika. This means that not only is there a chance of rekindling an old flame but also a solid reason for Katrina to be insecure and jealous. Fights over co-stars: It seems there is trouble brewing in Ranbir Kapoor-Katrina Kaif's paradise. Reports suggested that the lovebirds were spotted fighting on the sets of filmJagga Jasoos. This fight came as a shock as the two were spotted walking hand-in-hand in Cape Town a few days back. An India Today report said that the fight started when Katrina pointed out that a stunt Ranbir was performing was similar to Hrithik Roshan's stunt in the upcoming movie Bang Bang. The report adds that the similarity that was pointed out, allegedly made Ranbir angry. It seems Ranbir does not take comparisons to Katrina’s co-stars sportingly. Or is Katrina’s proximity to the hot and single Hrithik giving Ranbir sleepless nights?

Uncertainty over their wedding: It is still not clear whether Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif will tie the knot next year as reported. A few months back the media was abuzz with reports that said the lovebirds will get married in 2015 and both the set of parents have already started preparing for the same. However, both of them have never gone on record to accept that they will tie the knot anytime soon. In fact, Katrina has gone on record to say that the news of their 2015 marriage are just rumours and there are no such plans. Even Ranbir has dodged media queries about his wedding plans. In fact, there are reports that say that while Katrina is eager to be the bride and wants to take her relationship with Ranbir to the next level, Ranbir is not ready. He is concentrating on his career and feels it is too early to think of settling in life.

The eternal playboy: Be it the gorgeous Deepika Padukone or the sexy Sonam Kapoor, Ranbir has dated a bevy of Bollywood beauties. He is the quintessential romantic hero who has a heart of gold and a very successful career. Though he is currently in a stable relationship with Katrina Kaif, there are rumours that say the actor is not ready to tie the knot. In fact, in an interview to Daily Bhaskar, Ranbir had said that he does not like to talk about his relations as when a relationship doesn't culminate in marriage, people start saying, 'Pehle iske saath thi and then someone else'. Well, going by Ranbir's statement, it seems that he's not sure if he would make Katrina his bride. Is he unwilling to give up his bachelorhood? Or is he too busy for a wedding? That is something time will tell.
