Someone said I look like Ranbir: Vaani Kapoor

Mean comments and unwarranted rumours aren’t something new for our Bollywood celebs, but this one certainly took the cake for actor Vaani Kapoor. 

"My film (Shuddh Desi Romance; 2013) hadn’t even released and somebody wrote that I look like Ranbir Kapoor," giggles the 25-year-old. 

"I mean... why would somebody be so mean! Sometimes I feel that may be some people have a bad day, and they comment or create a rumour just to vent their frustration, one really needs to be a little more responsible," she adds.

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif will share space on the big screen

Bollywood's most loved couple Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have made many headlines recently due to their holiday snaps.

They are often busy with work and are spotted together mostly in Mumbai as these stars maintain a low profile.

For their upcoming movie Jagga Jasoos shoot which is scheduled in South Africa (SA), the discrete lovebirds will now spend some time together in SA. Katrina will be playing his reel love inthe film for which she has given a miss to the red carpet at Cannes.

Recently the news of the couple getting cozy at  a concert went viral in the cyber and now they will be ssen together in South Africa where the couple can share some cozy moments without the fear of getting snapped.

Katrina who was shooting with Hrithik for her upcoming flim Bang Bang flew down to Sri Lanka to meet her beau who was shooting for Bombay Velvet with Anushka Sharma.

Inspite of the buzz about the couple getting hitched in 2015, they continue to remain silent.

As per sources, Ranbir’s shooting schedule for his upcoming movie ‘Jagga Jasoos’ is set for South Africa. Katrina Kaif is to follow lover boy there. The long shoot of the movie will also be giving them ample time to spend together discretely.

On Wednesday, One India Entertainment reported that Kaif's rumored boyfriend, Ranbir Kapoor, made a visit to the set during filming and the actress walked away to go spend time with him. While this may have seemed like harmless thing to do, the site mentioned that Kaif left Roshan and the crew waiting for hours until she finally decided to come back.

Roshan was apparently "highly disappointed" with Kaif doing this.

There doesn't seem to be any word on what Kaif and Kapoor were doing for all that time, but Roshan was reportedly not happy about this.

There is still no official report if Kaif and Kapoor are dating or not, but Absolute India mentioned that they plan to announce their relationship status sometime soon.

"Too much has been said about Ranbir and Katrina," a source told the site. "Though they haven't spoken a word about it, the two have always maintained that they are special to each other. They also don't shy away from being spotted in public anymore as their families are aware of their relationship."

The two have allegedly had some challenges lately, but the source claims that there's nothing to be skeptical of.

"They did go through a rough phase in between, but then which couple doesn't fight?" the insider said. "They sorted out their differences and now things are fine."

Ranbir Kapoor helped cousin Armaan Jain bag ‘Lekar Hum Deewana Dil’

Actor Ranbir Kapoor was instrumental in bringing his cousin Armaan Jain on board for Saif Ali Khan’s home production ‘Lekar Hum Deewana Dil’.

Armaan Jain, grandson of legendary actor late Raj Kapoor, is all set to make his Bollywood debut with the Saif’ Ali Khan‘s film.

After completing the film’s script, director Arif Ali was looking for a lead actor and he was suggested that Armaan Jain could fill in the shoes of the character, sources said.

Arif, who is the younger brother of ace director Imtiaz Ali, then spoke to Ranbir Kapoor (Armaan is Ranbir’s first cousin) about the film.

Ranbir was in total agreement about the character being closely like Armaan, and he passed on Armaan’s details to Arif, sources added.

‘Lekar Hum Deewana Dil’ is about making mistakes and growing up. It reflects the ‘act first, think later’ sentiment of today’s youth and how relationships fail over unrealistic expectations.

The movie by Eros International & Illuminati Films is scheduled to release on July 4.

Ranbir Kapoor To Endorse No Smoking

Bollywood heart-throb Ranbir Kapoor might himself be a regular smoker but the star definitely supports the cause of 'no-smoking'. Ranbir Kapoor who has been rocking the Big Screen with a series of hit flicks will now be seen in a short film encouraging people to quit smoking.

Ranbir has a couple of big movies to work on but the actor has decided to be a part of a short fil which will endorse no-smoking by reflecting on the harmful effects of the habit. A source informed that the short film will emphasise on the benefits of being a non-smoker and Ranbir is very happy to be a part of the project. It is to be mentioned that the short film is being made by a group of people who work for cancer patients and Ranbir too has been participating in a couple of social initiatives like this one.

I Am Jealous Of Ranbir Kapoor, Says Saqib Saleem

"I am jealous of Ranbir Kapoor and his filmography. On one hand, he does a 'Barfi!' and on the other 'Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani'. He is the perfect combination of a star and actor," Saqib told PTI in an interview."

Actor Saqib Saleem says he is jealous of emerging star Ranbir Kapoor and attributes his meteoric rise in Bollywood to his ability to be both a star and an actor.

Saqib, who has starred in four films since making his Bollywood debut in 2011 with ‘Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge’, feels Ranbir’s film resume is to die for as it consists of commercial as well as off-beat movies.

“I am jealous of Ranbir Kapoor and his filmography. On one hand, he does a ‘Barfi!’ and on the other ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’. He is the perfect combination of a star and actor,” Saqib told PTI in an interview.

The 25-year-old actor also showered praise on his contemporaries like Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor and National award-winning actor Rajkummar Rao.

“I was blown away by Varun’s performance in ‘Main Tera Hero’. I called him up and said, ‘Bro, you killed it!’ I think he is a full entertainment package,” he said, adding that he liked Arjun Kapoor in ’2 States’ and Rajkummar Rao in ‘Shahid’.

In ‘Hawaa Hawaai’, directed by Amole Gupte, the actor played the role of a skating coach to Partho Gupte’s character.

When asked if he was apprehensive to play a character, who is not the lead, Saqib said, “It depends on how one sees things. I hate to compare my role with Partho’s but I would say that my role is as good as his. The dream he sees of being a skater in the film, becomes my dream too. I never had any doubt regarding that.”

Saqib, who played a college student in ‘Mujhse Fraandship Karoge’ and ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti’ and a homosexual in ‘Bombay Talkies’, says he wants to do different kind of roles and not be stereotyped.

“I want to work in good films. I believe in content. I would like to do films, which I would love to watch. It is not that I would not do a socially-relevant movie but at the same time I don’t want to get preachy,” he said.

Saqib, who is the brother of actress Huma Qureshi, is happy that his latest film is being appreciated by critics, audience and people from Bollywood. He said both he and his sister have decided to do one film a year from now on.

The actor said he was blown away by the performance of actress Kangana Ranaut in ‘Queen’.

“I don’t think I have seen a better movie than that in past five years. I could not find a single flaw. And if I could do one role of my contemporaries, it would be Kangana’s role in ‘Queen’,” he said.

Saqib, who has so far worked with new actresses, also wants to work with Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra.

The actor will be next seen in ‘Mere Dad Ki Maruti 2′ and an untitled action movie.

To this DP’s boisterous boyfriend said, “I don’t have as much money as he does (to buy a football team). I have a lot of other things to invest in.”
